Paul Klee
One of my favorite artists is Paul Klee, a Swiss-born German, who grew up studying music under his father, who was a musician and music teacher. I love the playfulness of his art. Many of his pieces show strange, geometric people, usually just their faces. The patterns, color, and texture in Klee's art makes it so that I could look at each piece for a long time. He used unconventional techniques, like painting on blackened glass with a needle, or using burlap to paint on top of.
